The role will be responsible for leading resource mobilisation efforts by translating programme strategies and results into compelling donor-facing narratives. The Manager (full time consultant) will develop and execute fundraising strategies, foster ongoing relationships with donors, develop proposals, lead digital fundraising initiatives, and work closely with the programme, IT, and M&E teams to ensure alignment between funding, implementation, and impact communication.
Detailed Job Descriptions:
- Lead institutional and individual fundraising efforts, aligning resource mobilisation strategies with organisational priorities.
- Manage donor pipelines, prospect research and mapping, proposal development, and follow-up using digital fundraising and CRM tools.
- Execute fundraising strategies and foster ongoing relationships with donors to achieve annual funding targets, while building a strong and sustainable donor pipeline.
- Coordinate development of donor-facing materials, including concept notes, proposals, impact reports, and presentations.
- Oversee digital fundraising campaigns, donor communications, and engagement strategies.
- Track fundraising performance, donor retention, and campaign outcomes using analytics and dashboards.
- Work closely with programme, IT, and M&E teams to translate programme results into compelling impact narratives.
- Maintain accurate donor documentation, reporting timelines, and compliance requirements.
- Strengthen internal fundraising systems and processes, including knowledge repositories.
- Build and manage relationships with foundations, CSR partners, and individual donors.
- Support leadership in strategic positioning and long-term fundraising planning.
Educational and Professional Qualifications
- Graduate or postgraduate degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Communications, Management, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- Formal training or certification in fundraising, resource mobilisation, communications, or digital marketing will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in fundraising, donor engagement, or partnerships within the development or nonprofit sector.
- Demonstrated experience in institutional fundraising, CSR partnerships, or individual donor engagement.
- Prior exposure to health, WASH, gender, livelihoods, or community-based programmes is desirable.
Key Skills and Competencies
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
- Strong proposal writing and donor communication skills, with the ability to translate programme strategies and results into compelling narratives.
- Experience in donor research, pipeline management, and tracking opportunities using CRM or digital fundraising tools.
- Familiarity with digital fundraising campaigns, online platforms, and donor analytics.
- Ability to work with programme, IT, and M&E teams to develop outcome- and impact-focused pitches.
- Strong coordination and follow-up skills to manage multiple donor timelines and deliverables.

- Ability to work closely with senior leadership to align fundraising priorities with organisational strategy.
- Understanding of donor compliance and reporting cycles.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, especially in proposal submissions and donor documentation.

- Ability to adapt messaging for different donor audiences while maintaining consistency in organisational positioning.
