ABOUT CFAR
The Centre for Advocacy and Research (CFAR), headquartered in Delhi is a non‐profit organization registered as a Charitable Public Trust working since 1998. We are committed to advancing the rights of marginal communities such as urban poor, single women, adolescent girls, unorganized workers, people with disabilities, sexual minorities and , People Living with HIV.
CFAR has developed expertise in communication and situation assessment research and advocacy. CFAR is currently working in nine states across Indian and has professional teams with expertise on rights and entitlements of marginalized communities, implementation of large scale projects on water, sanitation, education and social services; development communication and documentation of social change. In the past decade we have focused on issues such as women’s rights and health, child rights, sustainable development and elimination of violence against women and children.
Being a Public interest project implementation, research and advocacy group committed to creating spaces in the community in decision-making nodes and in the media for dialogue on issues concerning civil society; CFAR’s overarching goal is to influence public opinion and policies concerning issues of different marginalized communities from a gender and development perspective.
Our approach is best defined as striving to work towards and build the necessary synergy between communities, concerned stakeholders, the media and civil society through collaborative processes, advocacy and capacity building at various levels.

| 8 | Job Description: | : | • Lead the Welfare Programme in West Bengal (Kolkata and adjacent urban areas), including weekly and monthly planning of activities • Facilitate collectivization of urban poor communities and support community development initiatives • Handhold programme team and community-level staff to carry out their activities effectively • Train and build the capacity of staff to perform effectively in their roles • Coordinate with departmental officials to facilitate government schemes and programmes for the urban poor • Visit communities regularly and interact with community members to understand their issues and explore opportunities for collectivization • Provide technical guidance to programme teams on integrated urban public health initiatives, including occupational health, vector borne disease control and community welfare, across West Bengal • Submit programme-related accounts and activity reports on a weekly/monthly basis • Prepare monthly qualitative and quantitative reports, and any other reports requested by the line manager(s) • The scope of responsibilities may be refined based on the selected candidate’s experience and organisational priorities. |
