The Centre for Advocacy and Research (CFAR) is a non-profit organization, founded in January 1998 is committed to advancing the welfare of the poor and improving the quality of life of vulnerable and marginalized groups.
Mr. Cherian serves as a Member of the NGO Task Force of the Planning Commission, the Core Committee of the Niti Aayog, the National Human Rights Commission, Chair of the Empowered Experts Committee, and former Chair of the Royal Commonwealth Society of the Blind, now Sightsavers India. He is also a Member of the Grant-in-Aid Committee of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. Additionally, he is an author of various social development books such as ‘A Million Missions’ and ‘Managing a Million Missions’. Currently, he serves as Amicus Curiae to the Supreme Court in the matter of elderly rights.
